Limassol Castle stands beside the old harbour and houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum. Its present form follows an Ottoman rebuilding in 1590. Ancient Amathous, east of the centre, tells an earlier story: a city-kingdom with an agora and a sanctuary of Aphrodite. These are separate places to plan into your visit.
